Treatment for every stage.
Treat this outbreak
Start an antiviral now. It works best at the first tingle.
Keep some on hand
Have treatment ready at your pharmacy so you can start right away next time.
Prevent outbreaks
Daily treatment if you get cold sores often.
Treatment is antiviral tablets or cream, and the doctor decides what's appropriate for you. Up to two prescriptions per request, from $29.99 each, and medication is paid for at your pharmacy.
Is Feather right for you?
A good fit if
- You're 18 or older and live in Ontario and British Columbia
- You've had cold sores before
- Your cold sores are on or around your lips or mouth
See someone in person if
- This is your first-ever outbreak
- The sore is on or near your eye, or you have eye pain or vision changes
- Blisters are spreading quickly, the pain is severe, or a sore hasn't healed after 10 days
- You feel very unwell, or have facial weakness or blisters in or around your ear
These need to be seen in person, and some need urgent care. If your answers suggest this, we'll tell you where to go instead of treating you online.
